Will the term "LCD" eventually replace the term "monitor"?

Only until they're replaced by

OLED - Organic Light Emitting Diodes

ACNG - Activated carbon nanotube grid

CPSF - Charged Plasma String Fields

TSPA - Tachyon Stream Projector Array

no, because LCD can refer to more things than a monitor, such as an LCD TV

The cool thing about TSPA monitors is that they have a refresh rate below 0 ms and can completely eliminate lag in online FPS games.

We often just call them LCD or CRT at work, sometimes monitor but rarely.

I feel sorry for the people still stuck with CRTs, especially the ones too stupid to know how to change it from 60hz to 85hz. If I had to look at a 60hz monitor all day I'd get a seizure or something.

Aren't there LED monitors?

LED monitors are still LCDs, they're just backlit with LEDs instead of florescents.

Not if they're OLED displays.

What if SED becomes a real technology?

OP: "LCD" replaced "CRT" as a term, not monitor.
