Will the Republicans care about sound money in 2012?

I can really only think of a few Republicans who care about sound money. The rest don't care if we have a weak dollar as long as we have the dumbass 23% FairTax.

To me, sound money is a far larger issue than the tax system.

Don't get me wrong, the tax system is fucked up beyond words, but not as bad as the budget and inflation.

I'm just worried the Republican who wins in 2012 will campaign on tax reform and that's all we get.

Probably not. Sound Money has become Marketplace Money, I believe. The reruns would probably be well out of date and Republicans are very busy fucking up the country to ipod old stuff.

Fixed.

Good thing they pay a higher overall percentage of their income in payroll taxes, gas and sales taxes, state and local taxes, etc ....

Remember, these are Republicans we're talking about. They care about their money, not (apparently) about the health of the country as a whole. My guess is that they'll make a lot of noise about it during the campaign, and then nothing thereafter if they win.

since when did any politician care about the health of the country?

seems like it's been a long time since that happened. or anyone who does simply gets "corrupted" by the system quickly.

I never thought I would see China used as a benchmark . LOL. USA stops trade with China and China doesn't look so good at all . If Americans bought American goods we be setting pretty . Screw China . We don't need them . They need us . Usa buying USA changes everthing in so far as US economics. I don't care about China or india . and even less about EU.

agreed. Why do people keep thinking this is a horrible thing? China intentionally keeps it's currency devalued so that their economy can boom.

Because China exports a lot of stuff.

We import a lot of stuff, including vital necessities like energy. Our entitlements are also pegged to inflation, inflate away a few trillion in debt and get 10's of trillions in additional entitlement obligations.

I'm voting democrat, I don't care what happens to this country, until the republicans get their asses in gear and start getting serious about being conservative again. Sick of their spending and shenanigans.

This is more a problem of the people than of the government. If people wouldn't spend money they didn't have, consumption would fall and prices would have to fall with it until they were in line with something more sustainable.

we couldn't afford the gas, for one. Unfortunately, our cities were built when gas was cheap. If that ever changes stuff is going to rough, what with everybody having to drive everywhere. In europe you can walk to the local mart. Not in America.

Nope. If we only buy american everything costs more and quality of life falls because we can't buy as much.

We're sufficiently latched to China that nothing is going to happen. Mutual economic destruction is better than mutual [physical] destruction (from a-bombs).

NO, these are the same republicans that were spending money out of their ass before the current crop of money spending dems.
