Can you source that?
simple answer. yes.
The fixation on the Republican Party in these forums is quite ironic and comical.
Nope, they vote for the party or people that they think will pay them the most money. Almost every left-wing Democrat I know gets a paycheck from the government.
Yes. There needs to be two parties so we can occasionally say "Lets vote these bums out... and vote those slightly different bums back in."
I'm sure the positions will change with the times. I mean who would've thought 40 years ago that the dems would field a black president? No one. Maybe the republicans will become the "gay party." They might as well, it's already a sausage fest.
Here's another Gallup poll for ya.
http://www.gallup.com/poll/15370/party-affiliation.aspx
As of early September, 36% Independent, 35% Democrat and 26% Republican.
Apparently those conservatives don't identify with today's Republican party which is the point of this thread.
No, if the average voter voted their interests we wouldn't have free trade agreements, special low capital gains tax rates, or an ever increasingly regressive tax structure.
I would say that is because the current GOP is only socially conservative. They are not remotely fiscally conservative. They are the same as democrats fiscally they just want to spend on different things. I think a lot of those independents are socially moderate and fiscally conservative. Since the GOP is neither they identify as independants. That includes me I hate both parties right now. The democratic party has been hijacked by Pelosi and tree huggers. The republican party has been hijacked by the NEOcons and social conservatives. I will vote for Gary Johnson this time around. No perfect but he is the only one who really wants to cut government spending including the bloated military budget that is out of control.
because this forum has a STRONG Dem party stance. there are a few Republican's who post but the majority are dems.
They cannot just be luke-warm Democrats. We need clear contrasts and strong leadership. We need conservatives running the GOP who quite clearly tell you government is the enemy of a free people. That our constitution, our Bill of Rights is an attempt to form a more perfect Union, a more limited government of specifically enumerated powers.
What we need to win elections, is a rallying cry for Liberty. That is what Democrats like to call extremism.
Actually a majority of married women vote Republican.
It is only women who don't have A man who have to be dependent on THE man who vote Democrat.
while the first part of your statement is factually correct, the second part is just your misogyny on display.
You are welcome to present your own theory on why single women vote Democrat and married women vote Republican.
I know you're an antique. Do you get social security yet?
Not yet Moonie, I'm looking forward to getting that paycheck though and turning into a Democrat and start voting for my pay increases on the backs of my children and grandchildren.

Its simple, Single women do not identify with the symbolism displayed by republican politicians.
This is the biggest problem with creating an Echo Chamber. At first it emboldens everyone to work harder for the agenda and it makes them a force to be reckoned with. Eventually it makes all within it completely blind to what is actually going on in the real world and they become irrelevant.
An utterly meaningless answer.
