I am planning a system with the follwing for the office PC.

DFI UT NF4 Ultra-D
Athlon 64 x2 3800+
I Gb Ram
Some 2D VGA card (No gaming)
A modem
SATA 160 Gb Disk
DVD-RW Combo

I cant afford Lian-Lis or Antec PSU or casing because where I live (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) they can't be found or are too expensive. I am considering a Aopen H600A casing with 350W PSU.

I am planning to do some overclocking (dont have the faintest idea how to..so far). May be running the the CPU at 2.4 or 2.4. Will the stock HSF will be ok?

Can someone advise whether the PSU be sufficient?
Will the stock HSF and may be an additional case fan be sufficient to keep the system cool at acceptable levels?

Thanks in adavance for any suggestions..

AOpen has traditionally used good psu's, generally fortron, so it should be fine.

The stock hsf will probably do, as well, particularly if the computer is kept in a climate controlled situation. If not, then some sort of upgrade may be desirable. It's hot in Abu Dubai, right? I'd try stock before making any changes...

If I may make an interjection...it is Dubai (pronounced Du-Bi with a long I)...not Abu Dhabi.

I'd say a 350W should do, as well as a stock HSF...just make sure no dust gets in or anything.

Can you tell us the make and model number of the PSU you will be getting - it would be easier if you could just tell us the amperage on the various rails of the PSU particularly +5V, +3.3V and +12V. I am fairly sure that case will have an old design PSU which will emphasize the +5V rail over the +12V and that is just the inverse of what you need for your system. You will need a modern design PSU with at least 25 Amps (max) on the +12V rail(s) to support the equipment you listed.
. Now that may be an updated revision of the H600A with a modern specification PSU. If that's the case, then you may be OK with it.

Thanks for all of you has chipped in.. regret the delayed reply..

Yes..computer will be in temperature controlled room..so no worry on that count..

Only worry now is that PSU test result from Aopen list max voltage on +12V rail as 18Amp. and that of +5V rail is 25/30 A. Is that a problem?

May be a lame question..this will work with a socket 939 board right?

Thanks once again..

So long as it is atx 2.0 (meaning it has a 20 or 24 pin connecter...check what the motherboard requires...if the mobo has PCI Express, then you need a 24 pin connecter) as well as having a seperate 4 pin connector for the processor (2 yellow and 2 black wires on it.)

Doesn't seem too low. Like you said, not for gaming, so you should be fine.
