Will the price of the new Canon i9900 Printer (High-End 13"X19" Inkjet) drop significantly over the next few months?

Hello AT Peoples,

I am currently planning to purchase a Canon i9900 photo inkjet printer to print out my Architectural thesis which is due in about three months. I would like to know if you guys expect the price to drop much in that time. The printer was just released a couple of weeks ago, and I'm pretty sure that new 13X19 printers are only released once per year if that. Right now the best price I can find is $639 at a local shop here in Toronto, Canada.

Any ideas?

Also, should I be purchasing a different printer altogether? From the reviews I've read, the i9900 is totally unmatched in its class, but maybe you guys know something I don't so please share.

Come on guys I help you out all the time on these boards. Mi casa su casa. Someone must have some understanding as to how the prices on these printers fluctuates.

epson 1280 hasn't drop a dollar in two years (make it 3 years, i counted again)
