Will the P3-125 Alpha P3 heatsink fit on a BE6-II or an MSI BXMaster?

Just like the topic says. I was originally thinking about picking up the P3V4X but have decided not to when I read about the newer boards having less FSB speeds.

Anyway, I have narrowed my choices down to those two boards. Will that huge heatsink fit on those two boards? Will any DIMM slots get covered up? Just wondering if anyone had any expieriences with that heatsink/motherboard combination. Thanks

Your gonna lose 2 slots for sure on either of those boards (the Alpha is a realestate hog). Also, the higher quality board is the the BX Master, as all the PCI slots are bus mastering and the BE6 II can be a pain in the arse to get all your hardware to get along. The failure rate is much higher on the Abit than on the MSI.

I have the BX master / Alpha P3 125 and it only covers up one dimm slot.

So do I John, but I could have sworn when using an alpha, I only had 2 slots available. Maybe it was just that there was not much room between the 2nd Dimm slot and the alpha.

The P3125 has a notch that just barely clears the 2nd dimm slot but I'm using PeP66U and it takes up 2 dimm slots on my BX Master.

I have 3 dimms in mine and it has about a 1mm clearance before it touches the alpha....plenty in my book.
