Will the nforce2 require 2 memory modules for it's dual channel?

I'm building a new system now based on the KT333 chipset. I'm wondering if planning for the future means I should get 2 modules of 256MB DDR or if 1 stick of 512MB is ok.

It doesn't require, but to achieve maximum performance out of it, yes, you should use 2 sticks of memory.

Ok, now that that is clear, will the nforce2 chipset take advantage of the fastest memory?

IOW, will I want to buy 166MHz memory or the 200MHz DDR when I get the eforce2?

Yes, the nForce2 will allow for the fastest memory. One thing to note about using fast memory on the nForce2, do not use an asynchronous bus with the nForce2. Keep it syncrhonous, so if you want to run DDR400, try to run your CPU at 200 as well (which will probably force you to change multiplier).

In order to use the dual channel memory congig on the NF2 board, you WILL need two sticks of memory.
Supposedly it will support 400Mhz DDR.
Since the price of DDR 400 has come down in price quite a bit, it would be beneficial for you to get as fast as you can afford.
