Hmm, I’m not sure. He’s a shameless liar in a general sense but I also believe he actually thinks the country is better of if his sports team wins. A real troll wouldn’t care what the outcome was and would just want whatever is most entertaining.

Everybody should take a minute to bask in the fact that a Dem majority is passing a 2T stimmy with no pay fors and not even pretending to care what the GOP says, courtesy Joe Biden and two Dem senators from the state of Georgia.

What a journey.
But they sure as shit made sure to cut out the extra unemployment and stimmy for individuals.

Gotta make sure to keep the corporates and state government at the top of the priority list, ya know? American people belong at the bottom of your shoe apparently.

? They cut 3 weeks and reduced it by $100 per week. BUT made the first $10200 tax free. That alone is worth $1000 to $2200 depending on which tax bracket they are in which means for most individuals, the additional 300 a week in unemployment is tax free. As for the stimulus, they reduced the cut off by 20k (from 100k to 80k for individuals). So they really didn't cut unemployment as the tax break for the most part makes up for it. And the stimulus wasn't really that big of a deal as 53% of house holds, not individuals in the US make less than $75k.

Then there is the rest of the money in the bill that is designed to help the citizens that need the help, and not big corps.

Regardless, you really need to keep you mouth shut, as you had no issues with GOP wanting to give less, and/or nothing at all to the citizens and give big corp billions in tax breaks. You spent months kissing Trump and the GOP's asses. I am surprised your lips have healed from all the ass kissing you have done over the last year.

Wasnt that Joe Manchin's doing?

But I see what they are doing .. those sociopaths sentiments you echo. While they would have passed a nothing had they had their way, they know that by targeting a specific segment on the progressive left to point out that its not all that they wanted, they can stir up shit within the ranks of the enemy.
An equivalent strategy from the left would be to target far-right groups in Trumps GQP land with messaging like "4 years of Trump yet not a single jew let alone Soros got theirs...."
You see why you deserve the fuck you's you get?

You are mad about this?

damnit! Now I have to amend my return. I was so happy with myself for filing before March started! :D

I siphoned away ~$8.4k of yours and @highland145's money during about 4 months of unemployment last year--didn't pay taxes on it then because I had no idea what was going on at the time, so expected a big bill this year. Didn't really get it; but I have been funneling more money off to my IRA to reduce that bill/move into refund territory.

Wasn't it specifically put in place to address the surprise tax bills that a ton of folks are facing? Wasn't it something like only only 40% of unemployment payments in 2020 had taxes withheld? It sure seems like some are looking around for downed dogs to kick.

to me, that seems like a "dumb argument" to do it, but the results are still good overall. It's like stealth stimulus/help for a lot of people that clearly didn't get enough help last year. But..."Oh, I was supposed to pay taxes?" That's dumb. You have to actively select whether to have taxes withdrawn or not on unemployment insurance when you first file your claim and register to the state.

It's not like anyone can say they weren't informed about that. I was planning to pay a big bill on that this year, and was actually surprised it was way less than I thought (reading the news of this policy a few days ago, I thought it had already passed for some reason and explained why my bill was lower...but now I get to amend it and take back more of @highland145's money!)

I think you've confused this with the TCJA.

Not a troll. I'm just someoe with a life, my man. No need to get harsh just because I might have an opposing view from your own.

It's why you can express your OPINON, and it's why I can state my own OPINION. There is really no need to attack others. I haven't even said anything about you,. and yet you feel the need to start attacking me be ca1use 1) my opinion and view on ubi differs from you 2) I haven't countered your posts with links, stataments, etc. I was just busy with life.

I'll also admit that I was wrong in regard to UBI. I've done some more research and I now agree that UBI would benefit most people. If done correctly. If its not done correctly and the goverment screws it up then there could be issues. I still believe that if you give people money over the long haul then good luck weaning them off.

Go it thank. Fortunately am unfamiliar with the process. I still think this is a ridiculous thing to get bent out of shape over.
