Will the next generation of GPUs be PCIe only?

Topic says it all, sorry if this is common knowledge, but will ATI's and Nvidia's next generation of graphics cards come in AGP as well? Or is this the final generation for AGP?

Thanks!

No, ATi roadmaps showed AGP versions IIRC. Not sure about nVidia, but I would expect the same.

PCIe cards will come first, and be cheaper, but AGP will still be around for a while longer.

All I know is that I isn't taking any chances. I want to game. PCI-E is definitely gonna be on my next mobo.

Well I hear the NV70 will have AGP solutions (although I'm not sure what kind of performace hit there will be). I'm in the market for a motherboard (going X2 dual core) real soon, but I already have a 6800GT, so I won't need a new video card for a while. When I do get a new video card though, it's likely I'll just buy a new PCI-E motherboard as well and take my X2 and RAM with it.

well AGP is being slowly phased out although most of the market still uses PCI-e...next gen will have a mixture of both PCI-e and AGP.

No . . . g70/r520 will be AGP and PCIe

after that?

Probably the top cards, PCIe only in '06. ;)
(certainly by '07 although AGP will be available for mid systems)
