will the new x800's still successfully softmod?

every place in toronto that ive checked is sold out of sapphire and powercolor x800 pro vivos. they can order them from their supplier and get one for me later today but apparantly their suppliers are getting new shipments from the respective companies. does anyone know if these new shipments have had their pipelines laser cut or anything? i dont know whether i should still go for it or get a 6800 instead

did you check bigfootcomputers.com ? I bought my 6800gt there (i live in t.o. too) They usually have a bit of stock on high end vid cards.
