Will the "new" ATI OpenGL ICD really make a difference?

I'm not looking to start a war, but how much of a difference can this supposed OpenGL ICD really make? Its been rumored to of been worked on for the last year or so, and it still doesn't surface. Now that I bought a 9800 Pro.. I'd love to see it happen, but I'm not pinning my hopes on it.

The only way to know is if you could see into the future. I am a 9800 Pro and 6800GT owner and I hope it happens because ATI has been a good company and their supporters deserve it. If it pulls them within 5% of Nvidia then great! However, nobody knows how long it will take to make this improvement so I am thinking the rest of 2004 should be an interesting show between ATI and Nvidia. Get some popcorn and pull up a chair because it should be a great show.
