Will the new 533Mhz P4 work with my motherboard?

Hi guys, I have a question... I have Gigabyte 8IRXP motherboard, which is P4 478 socket motherboard with 400Mhz official bus speed. Can I buy the new P4 2.26 533Mhz bus CPU and put it into my MB? I can adjust bus speed to 133x4 (which would make it 533Mhz... thats how I run my 1.8A cpu right now... 1.8A@2.37ghz). Somebody told me that the older 400Mhz MBs wornt work with 533Mhz cpus.. Is it true? I thought that the only change is the bus speed and since I can make my MB run at 533Mhz bus, there should be no problem.. Am I wrong?
