Will the Legacy Video Renderers be used when VMR is checked.

I was planning on using overlay due to its blazing fast rendering, but then i noticed that it has image artifacts that i could not accept. For this reason, ive found that using VMR without having overlay or high quality mode checked works best.

But now im wondering if the legacy video renderers will even be used for my animation when im using VMR. If this animation was just for me, then i would just use any combination since they are all the same. But since i must present my work to a company, and in the advent that the legacy video rendering settings must be correct, then i must make sure i know what settings are required before walking into that room.

The three options for legacy video rendering are YUV flipping, RGB flipping, and primary surfaces. I have no idea what these are or do. I tried reading the tiny information in the WMP help files, but it gives far too little information. I tried looking on the net but had a difficult time finding the right information that was not ridiculously technical and only for professionals.

Anyhow, i know the VMR is working on my computer because i get screen tearing when its unchecked. But now i just need to know if the legacy video renderers are even being used when VMR is checked but running without the overlay and high quality mode options checked.

My animation is simply in AVI format with RLE encoding.

Thanks
