will the kt7a support duron 1ghz?

Well the question shouldn't be will it support the speed cause it most likely will since it uses a 10x multiplier and 100fsb....

However the question that is more important...since the duron 1ghz are morgan cores will it support the newer features of the morgan core....

I read in Pauls Abit KT7 faq, the KT7A rev.1.3 officially supports the morgan core Durons, and XP processors. I recently assembled a KT7E(not supported) mb, using a 1gig Duron, and it runs fine- the only thing is , when you run CPUID, it shows "not supported" in the SSE instructions box.

You need to identify what revision your KT7A is. It should work fine multiplier wise, the issue is that certain KT7(A) revisions choke on Athlon XP's and Duron 1GHz and above that use the Morgan core are XP. You'll have to look into it.

Mine runs very well with a Duron 1Ghz at 1.2Ghz a worthy upgrade 😀

I'm running an ABIT KT7A version 1.0 also 😉
