Will "The Interview" go straight to VHS or be scrubbed altogether?

I would air drop thousands of copies into NK. Hell I think we would have to drop mini video players with a sd card with that movie and all the britney spears albums and a few years worth of US magazine.

they would also need free ipods

With charged batteries since their dictator doesn't allow just anyone to have power.

What a schmuck.

I think I saw a hand crank charger on monoprice or was it fastech.

Well if it was fastech its pretty close to them singapore courier may have air drop options.

whoa... that ending was intense! When his hair starts to burn... 😱

They should release the film but bleep/blur out the references to NK. Or funnier yet, dub it over with a totally obvious fake name spoken by a person with a midget squeaky voice!
Everyone will still know its about NK but it wont ever actually say NK.

My bet is that it get released within a few months once this all cools down.

Still disappointed in Sony for letting themselves be pushed around.

I don't think they have DVDs in that country...

But, they may have glorious Laser Discs.

betamax would have been the better joke there
Is that for its age or the fact that it's a Sony technology. 😉

I never think of Betamax because we never had one. I do have extended family that used to work in the editing room of CNN. They used Betamax up until probably 10 years ago....much later than you'd expect.

The latter mainly, but the former applies to the basis your joke as well.

Its funny if you think about it. If NK hadn't hacked Sony and made up a lot of drama about the movie, few would probably have cared to see it. The reviews of the movie over at RT have been mixed (currently at 54%) but a whopping 96% of the "audience" want to see it:

NK's hacking attacks have provided Sony with a ton of publicity for a movie that otherwise would have gone un-noticed.

Something tells me there will be a movie with this exact premise when this is all over....made by Anchor Bay called 'The Job'. mwahhahaha.

Coming soon to a theater near you...

They were making a comedy movie about North Koreas Leader...
When suddenly...tragedy struck...
[Guy on a phone] "What? What do you mean hackers hacked our movie and threatened if it was released they'd kill people in theaters!!?? That doesn't happen..that sounds like the plot of a movie! Oh well I already got paid bitch!"
They were in a movie, making a movie, about a movie.....
Coming this fall from Anchor Bay

THE JOB

A small part of me is still considering the possibility that this is a marketing ploy... and that they'll eventually have limited releases banking on people seeing it just because of the controversy. I don't think anybody really gave a shit about it, but if it actually got released now I'll bet more people would see it than they would have before.

You got it.

Everyone on the planet has now heard of this movie.

You simply can't buy that kind of publicity.

Sony will be sending a big fat Easter Ham to Kim Jong Un.

The damage done by the leaks is way worse than a single hit movie. Just those racist emails alone probably ended the effective career of many of the head people at that studio.

The extortion could be done any time. I don't see Sony being hacked has anything to do with the movie being threatened.

LOL Sony blocked it due to copyright grounds. Seriously? Is that even relevant at this point? They're probably not even going to release the movie anyway.

As a FU to North Korea they should just make it public domain. Screw copyright/censorship. 😀
