Question Will the internet be able to handle the extra load of many more people working at home, streaming, or gaming ?

I use thinkbroadband's monitors to monitor 4 Internet connections in 3 states. Two of these connections have been showing some higher latency in the evenings, but it's not been consistent so I can't say it's due to increased traffic.

I doubt it, these same people are on the internet after work. Whatever performance issues the networks have after work may be seen during the day.

Depending on your provider of course,it shouldn't go down.At worst you will experience performance loss, but my provider doesn't even drop performance.Guess it's because people only buy the cheapest and it has low traffic.

So far my connection has been fine. Comcast, 100/6, 12ms ping to speedtest.net server. Kids don't get unfettered access to electronics during this 3 week shut down tho.

Some Big Corp have already problem with their own servers.

The curreny solution is to alternate the work force. Half of the Workers stay home one week, and the other half come to work, and switch with the other half after a week.

That said, Simple solution!, Kill for few months the on line "Killing gaming".
