Will the fan that came with my 1.6A cool enough to run at 2.1?

My friend's fan is dying so I offered to give him my Golden Orb and use the fan that came in the box with my 1.6A. My concern is that it will not cool enough for the chip to run at 2.1. It's been running fine with the GoldenOrb, never tried the other fan. Any thoughts? (PS: Golden Orb=loud.)

i realize that the stock heatsink/fan for the p4 1.6a is fine, but since i am picky i went ahead and got a swiftech mcx4000. i am only overclocking to 2.3 GHz. my temps are 26C idel and 38C load.

The stock 1.6A and 2.53 HS/Fan are exactly the same. The 2.8 may even use the same one (I haven't seen one yet). It is a very good unit and is overkill for a 1.6 GHz CPU.

the stock fans are good at any speed as long as you use Arctic Silver and dont add vcore voltage.

there is also a mod to disable the thermal fan sensor for constant 3500 rpms.

Just ordered some AS3. Then I will push my 1.6A further (running at 2.14 now...)

The stock hsf will be clearly be enough for 2.1, got my 1.6A to 2.6 with 1.7v :D Yes, 1Ghz oc with stock hsf and tim! Only got 2Mhz fsb more out of it when I changed to a PAL8942 with 47cfm Papst fan and AS3.

Beware of Golden Orbs, unless they've changed the design recently the fan blade pops off for no apparent reason. If you get one that does not have anything holding the center of the top of the fan I would not run it unless made some kind of modification such as adding one of the fancy fan grills and mounting it to the fins of the Orb somehow so that the fan blade can't come flying off. I have personally seen these failures as well as many others.
