Will the E6850 have an unlocked multiplier?

Will the E6850 have a FULLY unlocked multiplier (UP & DOWN)?

All Exxx processors have a locked upward multiplier. But isn't the processor you're talking about the X6850? All X6xxx processors have completely unlocked multipliers.

I wasn't sure if the 6850 was gonna be E6850 or X6850.......

The E6850 is one of the first 1333MHz FSB parts to come out, and will not have a completely unlocked multi since it is not an "Extreme Edition" part.

This is true. Also note that all future Extreme version CPU's will be Quad core or higher.

yessir.

only X6xxx processors and whatnot are upwards/downwards unlocked, just like AMD's FX series.

And it only has a 9X multiplier. You're better off with an E6700.

E6850 will be E1 stepping at retail.

E6700 is B2.

E1 is a bit faster.

Case to explain what you mean by the above statement? B2 stepping faster than E1? Surely not.

Maybe you meant the E6700 has a 10x multiplier while the E6850 9x hence at 1333MHz the E6700 will be faster at 3.33GHz Vs 3GHz?

Acording to this the E6850 will have a G0 Stepping...
