Hi,

I have a P7P55D Asus Mobo which i currently run with a Core i5 750 CPU. Recently ive started to get hiccups with the PC and it doesnt seem to run as smooth as before.

It seems to lag a bit even with general applications like chrome, windows explorer, loading of pictures, etc. It seems a bit laggy when it comes to responsiveness.

Hence i think my CPU might be an issue as I also just bought a new HDD as the old one was dying and added another 4GB ram to my system.

So if I do change my CPU, will the Core i5 3570 CPU work on my P55 mobo? It is the same socket after all.

Also would I lose any performance by not having the latest Z77 mobo to go with the Core i5 3570?

No. You will need a new mobo with the correct socket for that to work.

You got LGA1156, the i5 3570 uses LGA1155.

And if you are to buy new today, you can just aswell but LGA1150 and the latest 4th generation i55 (Haswell).

Crap. Thought i had the 1155 socket all along.

Any ideas what could be causing the lag and slightly slow responsiveness?
