I have an antec Sonata III case and g kill "ripjaws" ram. Will the hyper 212 fit? Or will the ram height/case dimensions prove too small?

Depends on your CPU socket placement, but I'm almost certain it will fit. Hyper212 isn't that wide and has good clearance. Worse case, it'll fit one orientation and not the other.

It's an Asrock H77M motherboard and i5 sandy bridge SR00T if that clarifies any. As for orientation, how much does that matter? Are you supposed to position it so the exhaust air goes out your rear case fan? How much would it hurt it to orient it another way if it's too wide?

...

NM never used that case, I couldn't say.

I'd be surprised if it wouldn't though.

Generally you want the fans oriented to blow either up or back depending upon if you have exhaust fans at the top of the case. Looking at your case blowing back would be preferred but failing that due to possible clearance/orientation issue as mentioned above, you will be fine blowing up as your psu will exhaust that anyway.

Most psu's fans are either off or super low at boot/idle. Exhausting you cpu into it would be bad these days.
