Will the Antec Sonata power this case? --

Here's the system specs that'll be hogging the most power from the PSU:

MSI Neo2 Plat
Athlon64 3200+ 90nm
x800XT
Seagate 200GB HD
Two optical drives (NEC DVD+-RW Burner and a Asus 16xDVDROM/48x CDROM Drive)
2x Corsair 512MB Value Select RAM
Chaintech Sound card ($25 one)

So will the Truepower 380W that comes stock with the Sonata case be able to handle all this? I just want to make sure whether to suspect the PSU as the cause of a problem once I get the computer.
 
Are you running an MSI board as well? I've heard those are very power-hungry, which is mainly the reason I'm unsure about this.
 
the sonata's psu can EASILY handle your setup. people with shuttle's new xpc were able to power their systems with a lot more components then urs wtih a 240W psu. why? because amps > wattage.

I know; I was concerned since there is only 18amperes on the 12v rail.

I built a system for someone with a Sonata a couple months ago and it had the beefier PSU. I'm running on the 18A version without any problems.
 
I just picked up a Sonata at Fry's about a week ago for my wife's new PC and it had the +12V rail listed as being 24A. They are growing beefier by the day.
 
Has anyone tried putting the Asus A8V deluxe in this case? I was gonna order it off New Egg today, but wanted to see if anyone had any issues with it. From what I've read it sounds like the case should more than handle my system (which is trickling in through the mail):

I'm also considering this case to house an A643200+ and 9800 pro. I was worried about the 380W being enough, but from reading this thread it sounds like I'll be ok. I like the fact that this comes with a PSU, when compared to the Super LanBoy.
 
The Sonata in my wife's PC is powering a P4 550 on an Intel 915PBL (a board that has the option to go with a 24-pin PSU connector because the processor is so power hungry), so an Athlon 64 should be just fine with the Sonata's PSU - especially the newer ones with the higher wattage. Since it is a truepower, I bet it could probably even squeak by running an SLI set up. Not sure if I'd want to try it, but you might be able to manage with a pair of 6600GTs. And with the second 120mm fan mounted inside the case and blowing across the graphics cards, it might not even run all that hot inside either.
