No.

Athlon64 uses a whole new pin configuration. Incompatiable with any motherboards on the market today.

Then what about the AMD Barton?

Whats the difference between the Barton and the 64?? (besides the fact that Barton is a 32 bit processor and a 64 is a 64)

Thanks

Barton should work fine in that board, but so far bartons look like only around 5% performance increase, from t-breds, at most.

I dont know too much about Athlon 64, but it definately wont work with any motherboards available now.

Yes, the Barton will work with your new board, but the Athlon 64 will need a new socket 754 (I think).

Since AMD is now performance rating all of their chips, then unless you are running a 64 bit app, one 2800+ should perform the same as another in 32 bit apps.
