Will the 8800 GT fit in th P182?

I ordered an evga 8800 GT and want to know if it will fit without removing the hard drive cage. I do not have any hare drives in it but I have a 120mm fan mounted on it.

If I have to remove the cage, how can I still utilize the fan?

Any pics of similar set up?

Yes since I have both. However my 120mm fan is behind the fan grille instead of using the optional mount to put it near the video card. Since the PCIe power cable is on the rear of the 8800GT you may have clearance issues.

thanks John. can you explain (or maybe show a picture) of how yours is installed? How does it attach near the fan grill?

Not my pc but here's a pic. The black fan mount will pull out so that you can screw the fan to it.

I don't have the fan mounted on my hard drive cage. The card is going to fit no problem. But that PCIE power connection on the card will be close. I think you'll be ok.

I too have both a P180 and an EVGA 8800GT and I did not have any clearance problems with the power cable.

OK, I'm an idiot.

I took out the drive cage and figued I'd go ahead and mount the fan to the removable bracket (that I had no idea about). All I had to connect it was wire ties. Does the case come with anything else for this purpose?

So I get it on there and everything looks OK but I can't seem to put the bracket back in. 😱

I can get all the tabs in theor respective holes but I can't slide it over. :|
I don't want to put too much force into it because I'm afraid something will break.

So, I guess I may just try to put the cage back in and the fan back on in hopes of enough clearance. Unless someone knows what I might be doing wrong. 😕

Also, the other issue is the wires on the fan will not reach any of the on-board headers if it's mounted near the front of the case so I guess I'd have to get an adapter????

My 8800GT blocked SATA1 slot on my board. gladly, there were multiple SATA ports to use. This thing is big!

There are SATA cables that have connectors bent as an L that came with my new mobo for just this reason. Although you have to take the 8800GT out to put the SATA cables in, the do (just) clear under the card.
