Will storing burned DVDs in a spindle damage them?

I am currently storing all of my data DVDs in a 100-capacity spindle that came with some blank media I purchased. I am mainly storing them like this because I can't think of any better option. Buying a DVD or jewel case for each would take up far too much space. Do you think this will ruin my discs? Some of the data is very important.

If the data are very important a single burned disk is a ghastly place to store it. Those things just aren't entirely reliable, particularly over the long term. That said, though, it should be fine. Scratches, particularly on the top of the disk where the foil layer lives, are what you really must avoid. Spindles won't induce scratches unless you mistreat the disks, spin them about the spindle, let grit get between them, etc.

Thanks for the replies. Here is another similar question: I tested a random burned DVD in Nero CD-DVD speed and here are the results

General Information
Drive: LITE-ON COMBO SOHC-5232K
Firmware: NK06
Disc: DVD+R (RITEK R03)
Selected speed: 8 X
PI errors
Maximum: 178
Average: 35.15
Total: 518045
PI failures
Maximum: 58
Average: 1.57
Total: 94196
PO failures: n/a
Jitter: n/a
Scanning Statistics
Elapsed time: 9:47
Number of samples: 128072
Average scanning interval: 1.11 ECC
Glitches removed: 9

Is this within a respectable range of PI errors and PI failures (and by the way, what's the difference). I also don't understand how it removed 9 glitches...what kind of glitches?

Burn it at 4x next time. Your Using grade 3 ritek the last of their quality discs. G4 is where they took a dive for the worse.

Nope, not a bit. I have a cake box (those clear cylindrical spindle containers) of about 50 or so burned CDs/DVDs that has been around for 5 or more years.

It's not recommended since they can get scraped up. Besides how those little sleeves are dirt cheap.
