will static be a problem if I keep my LJ4plus on the carpeted floor?

I have an HP laserjet 4 plus and would like to keep it on the floor. I am wondering if static from the carpet might be a problem

you probably won't have a problem. if you want to be perfectly safe, phone books work.

Hi, Your device will be permanently grounded if it stays plugged into a proper 3 pin wall outlet. You should have no problems with static electricity. Jim
