I'm using Windows XP Pro SP3.
In an effort to help cool off my computer room (and maybe save a few pennies in electricity), I'm thinking about using Windows power savings features and shutting off the HDs after an hour of inactivity. I have 8 HDs in my system, so we're talking about a decent amount of heat.
A possible glitch is that I have two Scheduled Tasks (NTBACKUP) that run every night, saving things to various drives.
If the drives are powered down, will the tasks still run? Thank you for your assistance.
