Will soyo dragon plus work and OC well with 1700+?

I think I saw it somewhere that the 1700+ does not work well with dragon plus but I can't find it now. And my MB only take 2100 DDR so is it possible for me to OC to a higher level? I have Basic Mushkin which I guess I will have to upgrade to overclock.

Suggestions please.

as far as ur system goes, ur soyo mb is a kt400 chipset? or kt333?

from experience with KT400 board, the chipset is the limiting factor to how high you can overclock, as there is no PCI or AGP lock. you can probably OC well, but you may run into problems.

as far as ur ram, it will be a limiting factor also, you may be able to get that ram up to DDR333 specs with relaxed timings, but it would be better to get some higher quality DDR400 or higher that can do CAS2 and you will get the full benifits of a FSB = DDR speeds.

hope this helps.

hmm, don't expect great FSB overclocks with that chipset then, since the highest multiplier it has for a t-bred is something like 13x (read it around here in the forums somewhere, you can look for it).

all i can say is, trial and error, but remember, since the PCI and AGP clocks are not locked, you maybe bring the PCI clocks out of spec and cause HDD corruption.

OC @ ur OWN risk :)

The Dragon plus needs the old AMD chips, it does not play good with Tbreds, no matter what there speed is. That was my final straw with it, and I went to a Nforce 2 board.
