my monitor will display 1024x768.....it should do 1280x1024 at 60hz which it does kinda........the desktop or image or what ever the 9500pro has in its buffers is indeed enlarged to 1280x1024...but the monitor stays in 1024x768 so now i have an image that is too big for my monitor....my monitor gets round this by letting me pan round the screen :S i can only see 1024x768 pixels of the 1280x1024 pixel image!!!!

so i switch the res to 1280x1024.....my monitor comes back on and i can only see part of my desktop, i then have to use the mouse to manouver round the rest of the desktop!!! its like its not squashing the image to fit on the screen (so things look smaller) every thing jus looks the same size....theres jus more of it!

help please!

check your monitor manufacturer for the correct drivers (*.inf) for your monitor.

Try going to the advanced display properties, on the "displays" tab go to the monitor property sheet and uncheck DDC, below pick the maximum value your monitor supports in both the resolution and refresh rate from the drop down boxes.
