Will SLK-800A or 900U fit on A7N8X-Deluxe?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can confirm for me if either the Thermalright SLK-800A or SLK-900U heatsinks will fit (without bending any capacitators or anything) the Asus A7N8X-Deluxe mainboard? I'm pretty sure I've read that the 800 will fit, but am not sure about the 900.

Thanks 🙂

A person reported having to notch the fins on the SLK-900U for his A7N8X-Deluxe... thread Hope that helps you out 🙂

According to Thermalright the 800A will fit without modifications. The 800U will also fit fine. The 900U will need to have capacitors bent out of its way or part of it cut. Thermalright lists this on their webpage.

Just so i don't have to start another thread because there are already 2 threads about these heatsinks and motherboards, anyone know if the SK-7 and the 800A fit on the Abit NF7-S v2 without modification?

All of this info is on Thermalrights website. Info is not listed for the SK7 or SLK800A, but it is for the 800U/900U. The 800A should fit just fine on the NF7, I imagine the SK7 should too, because it is smaller.

Hmm crappy, going to have to go SLK-800U then, was hoping to have the 900 but don't want to bend things. I hear there isn't a huge advantage to 92mm fans anyway.

A 92mm fan will actually fit on the SLK800 if you bend the fan clips a bit. It won't yeild much better results as the hub of the fan creates a bigger dead spot in the fan, but it will work. I am now running a SLK800 on a A7N8X Deluxe and there is a ton of room for it. The 900 must be huge to actually not fit.

I suspected as much re: 92mm fan performance. Although it does push more air, so if you undervolt it, it might be a bit more quiet. The reason the 900 doesn't fit is because they changed the orientation of the fins 90 degrees (so if it was left-right on AMD boards, it's now up-down) apparently they run into caps now.
