Will SE440BX2 Mobo run SATA drive?

I'm looking at adding a new hard drive into an existing computer that is based on an Intel
SE440BX2 MB, and want to move to something pretty fast and pretty roomy. I'm thinking of something like a 7200rpm 300GB SATA drive. I have a brand new licensed copy of Windows XP that I plan to install on the new drive. I have at least 256 MB RAM in the box. Is it likely this will run, and are there any other questions/considerations I should make before placing my order?

You need a PCI SATA controller. Make sure its a fairly well known brand with good driver support, otherwise it will be a PITA to install Windows on it.
