WILL SDSL ROUTER WORK ON CABLE ?

Hello,

I am going to set up a small network (2 computers) in my house and need to know if a Netopia R7100 sdsl router will work with my cable modem. I am being given this router by a friend and figured it was cheaper than buying a linksys.

Will it work ok?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated

Hmmmm I think it will. Check out this, I pulled it from the web page.
Netopia Routers have a modular architecture allowing for upgrades
to faster or more economical WAN connections such as Cable, DSL
or T1. Netopia makes migrating to a new connection as simple as
changing the WAN module card!
Youll need to find a Wan module for it and I dont think its gonna be cheap.
It seem the modules go from 150.00-400.00. I'd definitly consider a linksys.

That is a sweet router.

Sure, but this WAN Module goes for $185.

You can buy 3 Home Cable/DSL Routers for the price of the Module.
