Will running a PCMCIA wireless card through SCSI hurt performance?

I have a SCSI (5MB/sec) device in my PC that reads PCMCIA cards. If I used a 11Mbps Wireless Net card will I get worse performance than a PCI one?

Thanks

In theory.

5MB/sec. (B=Byte) is 40Mb/sec. (b=bit).

802.11b needs only 11Mb/sec. (b=bit).

40 > 11.

Of course it depends on what else the same SCSI channel is doing.

yeah I am leaning toward the pcmcia if only to plug my 'port' to prevent dust entering my PC :) (one type 1 and type 2 ports...my CF card fills the type 1 in the PCMCIA adapter.

The rest of my devices are HP 4c scanner, Plextor 40 wide, Plextor 12/32/10 writer, and pioneer DVD 305S.
