My brother might be getting handed down this old computer, with a motherboard that only officially supports pentium3's up to 500mhz (Currently it has a p2 350mhz). Since 750's seem like the best deal to upgrade to right now, and Slot1's are the cheapest, should we just buy a slot1 750mhz one, and let it run at out of spec voltage?
I have a feeling this might fry the processor pretty quickly, especially if we don't get really good cooling for it...
Anyone have any ideas? I'm thinking it might just be a good idea to shell out for an MSI slotket, and a socket1 pentium3 750, but it might cost like 30$ more.
