sometimes when i go over to my friends house with a v5, the desktop looks so much "better" than my mx!

after all the good 2d stuff, will the radeon give me much improvement? also, how is this card good in counterstrike?

supposedly radeon LE's 2d is sharper than the MX, but it also depends on your monitor.
i had a voodoo3 3000, which was crystal clear with my sony trinitron monitor, and I felt the 2d was just as crisp with my new radeon LE. i've heard the mx 2d quality is crap. the LE rocks, by the way. don't play CS though.

LE -> Nvidia
In my experience at 1024x768 and below there is no significant difference. At 1152, my particular g2 can't even begin to compete but I only have a 17" so it really doesn't matter. It also depends on the geforce brand.

If you play a lot of CS, stick with nvidia. Vsync doesn't quite work on most w2k systems, not a problem in most games but CS is prone to some really bad tearing. Miss the overall image quality of the radeon but the vsync issue was too bothersome to deal with.

The MX line doesn't have great 2D, the Radeon line does. So yes, it would probably be sharper, unless your monitor sucks. It would also be faster.

At 1024x768, you might be able to notice a tiny bit of a difference. However at higher than that you definitely should notice a difference. The 955DF has awesome text quality too so the Radeon would be better if you are running at higher than 1024x768 because that's where you'll notice the difference. The colors on the Radeon is supposedly better than a GF2 card but I don't have both so I can't comment.
