Will Radeon 9500 Pro/9700 Display Properly on Widescreen LCD?

HI All-
Help me clear this up: I have a Radeon 9500 Pro/9700 card, and I want to get a widescreen LCD. Looking at something like this ViewSonic http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16824116092


My question is this: will my graphics card be able to display things at the proper resolution and in the correct aspect ratio? I see by the ATI website that the card supports 1600X1200; I see that the ViewSonic has a native resolution of 1680X1050. Will the card recognize the needs of this diplay and give it what it wants, in th correct aspect ratio and resolution? Is the info at the ATI site old (as this is an older card...that still looks great, I might add)?

I can't see where the ATI site mentions anything about widescreen 16X9 displays at all.

I find it all very confusing, and I don't want to make a mistake, or end up having to buy a new card or mobo or...

i have 9600xt and it runs 1440x900 fine.

So, you just plugged it in and it displayed properly, in all respects?
