I am just wondering if prices will most likely drop on Computer Parts. I am looking to purchase the XP 1800+ / Dragon+ deal from outpost.com for $349 shipped, but I am debating whether or not to wait till after xmas. Is the wait worth it? Will the prices actually drop probably? Or just stay the same?

I already got 256MB PC2100 Ram right now, which I plan to put in my combo. But does anyone think the price of the XP 1800+ or the Dragon+ motherboard will drop at all after Christmas? Or should I just go ahead and order it now?

When Northwood and XP2000+ come out (Jan 7, I think) processor prices should drop a bit (maybe).

Around two weeks after Northwood 2.2ghz arrives, there will be another price drop from Intel.

The XP1800+ will go down in price when the next wave of AMD releases comes out. If you can wait until after the holidays, then just wait. Upgrade parts are not a hot xmas item that normally gets marked up for holiday sales. Stuff like consumer goods (portable stereos, MP3 players, cell phones, etc) usually go up, but that doesn't seem to be the case this year.

Pretty good replies so far I'd say.

I would just buy now... Why wait? Prices always go down.
