Will Powerstrip help output a different resolution on laptop VGA out?

I have an IBM T30 laptop with an ATI Radeon 7500 and would like to output 1280x720 on my VGA out port. My LCD screen is 1024x768 and I have the "latest" drivers for my Radeon 7500 from IBM installed. In the display properties, I am able to select 800x600 or 1024x768 for the VGA out but 1280x720 is not even an option. Will Powerstrip help me in this regard?
