Will Powerleap CPU upgrade work under Linux?

Newbie question: I am thinking about the new Powerleap upgrade to use a 1.2 GHz Tualatin on my BH6 board. The main reason this appeals to me is that I could keep my ISA modem, ram, power supply, etc. Does anyone know for sure if there are any problems with this upgrade under Linux?

I assume the Linux kernel will have to be recompiled or modified to take advantage of the new CPU. How hard is it to do this? Does anyone know if support for the new Tualatin Celerons is included in the latest shipping versions of Linux (2.4 kernel)?

 
There's no reason why it shouldn't work. The most likely scenario is that Linux won't recognize your proc (Tualatin is still pretty new), but it will still run fine.
As for recompiling that shouldn't be neccessary either. Most distro's ship with kernels compiled for a 386, and besides it will be quite awhile before gcc can take advantage of any new instructions in the Tualatin core (if there are any). Of course compiling for a P6 core would be a good idea if you haven't done so yet.
