Will PowerDVD use a V5500 as hardware accelerator?

I cannot get it to recognize this video card. It's not in the list of supported cards on Cyberlink's website, no 3dfx cards are. It just seems strange to me that it cannot be accelerated with a V5500.

My specs are:
Duron 700 on Asus 133a mobo
196MB PC100 RAM
3dfx 5500
Univ Buslink DVD drive (I think its actually a Lite On)
PowerDVD 3.0

TIA, Fritz

the V5 does not have any hardware acceleration to speak of, but the V3 actually did have a little. it was a strange step backwards. it doesn't mean you can't use PowerDVD to play back DVDs perfectly, because you can. But the CPU load could be 70%, that's all. fritzdog I don't understand your problems...

No, the V3 had none, just like the V5 has none.

Not like it makes a big difference unless you're running it at really high res, etc... ;)
I want a Radeon for DVD.... :(

I was just suprised that PowerDVD could not use the V5500 for video acceleration. Actually it plays pretty well in software mode. I close out any unnecessary background apps and I've played full movies without a hiccup. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

Thanks, Frank
