Will post-war Iraq have the same borders???

What do you think??? More and more it appears as though Kurdish-Iraqi rebels and their kinsmen in Turkey and other neighboring states will vie for control of Northern Iraq's oil resources. This would be the first step in (re?)creating Kurdistan. It seems Turkey is considering sending their own troops to PREVENT this from happening and they are making this a condition for allowing US overflights. Turkey probably doesn't want the Kurds to gain power because it could incite their own sizable Kurdish population to seek statehood or an alliance with Kurds in Iraq.

What do you think about all this? And what do you think the US role should be in either preventing Kurdish ambitions or assisting them?

ehhh...I don't know. It's an interesting question. Iraq, much like Afghanistan is a construct of the old British Empire that doesn't really relate to the tribes that live in the areas. I just hope that once the conflict is over, genocide doesn't break out like it did in Bosnia/Serbia.
