since pd is being used in trinity fm2, and am3+ pd 6 months later will am3+ pd be slightly improved over trinity? or will it be exactly the same other than L3 cache (iirc trinity will again not use L3)? also, anyone see rumors/leaks on wether trinity will have unlocked multi?

As far as I'm aware they are the same core, but Trinity is 2-4 cores, no L3 cache, and integrated graphics. Piledriver depending on what road map you look at is 4-8 or 4-10 cores, had L3 cache, and no integrated graphics.

I personally haven't seen any rumor or leak regarding an unlocked multiplier on Trinity.

Its actually far more simple than people have made it out to be as of late, FM = on chip graphics, AM3+ = no graphics. Being that the phenom ii was cachestrated I'd expect the same of piledriver, especially considering the raw transistor count of bulldozer.

I think the trend of gimped CPU's in favor of making space for the GPU will continue, unless AMD is smart enough to realize it's a bad idea.

sorry, i meant specifically the piledriver cores. i do understand fm2 being apu and am3+ being just cpu. but as far as the rest of the "goods" that make up the cpu cores. i am only looking for 4 "threads" so was curious if the fx4100 successor would be equivelent to w/e the top trinity apu is.
