Stupid question but my system is not booting. Does a P4 2.4A 533 need PC2700 for the 533 bus? I just assumed pc3200 was backward compatible.... anyone? thanks!

Technically all you really need is PC2100 = DDR266 = 133mhz x 4 (quad pumped) = 533fsb, which is what you have. PC3200 and PC2700 should be backwards compatibile with PC2100, unless you got some really funky ram 😕
Another thing is since you have a 2.4A 533, it's a prescott CPU, so maybe there might be incompatibilities there? (on the upside, i heard they are great o/cers, but there's no HT and, well, its still a press-hot 😉)
PC3200 will be backwards compatible unless you buy some brand of RAM that doesn't like your motherboard. On a Intel platform, that should not be an issue. Er, I wouldn't think . . .
