will pc150 ram work?

K7vza mobo, kt133a chipset i think, something like that, anyway, i was gonna get pc133 ram(2 512 sticks😀) but i figure if it'll take it the 150, maybe overclock it. also would i see a difference between the pc133 or 150?

PC150 isnt an official JEDEC spec. Its just tested to run reliably at 150MHz. I have some PC133 RAM running @ 66MHz, and its running no faster than the other stick of PC66 in that machine. The only diffence is that the PC150 is gauranteed to run @ 150, while the 133 is spec'ed to run at 133.

assuming it will work with the chipset (there is some "only AMD" and "Only Intel" RAM), yes it will work. RAM is totally backward compatable, MHz wise (different pin count, ie SDR vs DDR, is not backward compatable, but...)

Mookow 🙂P) I think you misinterpreted something. He wants to know if his PC133 will do 150, not if his PC150 will do 133. I have 133 at 100 right now, everyone knows higher ones can go LOWER, but not all lower ones will go higher...

I would go for it and see if it's stable. If everything boots up fine and nothing messes up, leave some MP3s playing while you play a few games of UT, Q3 or whatever you play. Open and close a lot of stuff, burn some CDs or scan stuff, stress out your system. Run a few benchmarks. If it goes through everything without a hitch, you should be fine. 🙂

Well, you cant GUARANTEE an overclock (which is what running PC133 RAM @ 150 is). AS far as everyone knowing RAM can be run lower, there was someone a few days ago who asked whether he could run his PC133 @ 100.
