I am using the AI241040 TDK cd writer, the 24x model. Will overburning damage this writer? if not, what's it's limit if anyone has tested it. thanks.

I think the only thing overburning could harm is the cd?? I may be wrong.

I heard if the arm tried to move too far, it could damage it. no idea if this can actually happen - I would assume the drive wouldnt "break" itself.

the most i ever overburned was like 10 megs. i kept on getting errors (coasters) if i tried burning more than that. nero does warn against overburning because they say it will damage the writer, but i've unsuccessfully overburned many times and my burner is so doing fine. (plextor12.10.32)

I noticed Nero has a nice warning about overburning. In the warning it does say that in some cases you could damage your burner.
