Hi

setting up new PC in a few days and i have 2 120GB SATA HDs

i tend to like partitioning my drives up quite a bit and usualy do this with an oldish copy of partition magic i have hanging around (version 6 or 7 i think cant remember right now) before installing windows

question i have with new system is will partition magic still recognise the HDs now they are SATA or am i going to have to just install windows and then deal with partitions after it is installed?

I've got a copy of PM7 and it recognizes SATA drives on both my Nforce 3 and Sil3114 connectors. you'll probably be ok.

I have an old version of partition magic also and I'm pretty sure it recognized the sata drive I put in my computer for a bit.

Just checked - PMagic 8 sees IDE, SATA, Firewire and USB. PMagic 8 is now 2 years old. :)
