Hi -

I have an older BH6 1.1 (Slot 1) mother board in a computer that's been around a few years. I've gotten an opportunity to get a PIII 800 Slot 1 processor dirt cheap (we're salvaging out an old server at work). The hitch is that it's an EB (i.e. 133 mhz bus). Can this CPU work with my mobo. (I don't particularly want to get into a high risk situation i.e. overclocking.)

If it will work, is there anything in particular I should be looking out for???

Thanks.

It's been a while, but the only way you can run at a 133 bus using a bh6 is by overclocking. That means you'll be running the pci devices too high and may cause either damage to them or an unstable system. Unless there is a 1/4 pci devider, and I don't believe there is, from what I remember.

I'd suggest you try and trade that cpu for one that has a 100 bus. ;)
