Will old AMD heatsink fit a Venice-core CPU on MSI NEO4?

Hi all, I just want to know if my old AMD heatsink for Athlon XP 1700+ can be used with Venice-core CPU on MSI NEO4 Platinum? Thanks in advance.

they are different sockets, probably not. Why are you thinking of using a heatsink rated (and I use this term lightly) for a 1.47Ghz processor on a CPU that is at least 2Ghz?
 
My current HS is already super huge and it has 80mm fan on top of it.... I was just thinking maybe I can save $50 🙂
 
You don't have to spend $50. Get the XP-90 w/ fan from Jab-Tech.com for roughly $30. There's no way to mount your socket A heatsink to the new socket 939 unless you use zip tie.
