Will not taking AP Spanish 4 (and replacing it with another AP) hurt my college admission chances?

It's my senior year and I am thinking of switching my AP Spanish 4 to Ap European History (sophmore class, but I never took it, and i've taken just about all the other AP classes my school offers...).

My question is whether this will hurt my admission chances to lets say... UCLA? Or do they not care that much about what AP you take, as long as you take AP's...

your gpa and your test scores are gonna matter more than whether you have AP foreign language. I'd more wonder which would be more useful..

AP Spanish 4 will probably only help after you get in. Assuming you pass the exam, you'll probably fulfill the foreign language requirements of the college.

that was really the point I was trying to make.. was distracted and didn't make it well.

hammyton, if AP euro-history is the only AP you haven't taken then assuming you're passing the tests as well as taking the classes, you probably have most of the history credits you can take in and USE, anyway.. but that AP spanish will likely fulfill your foreign language requirment AND get you hours (my daughter took 5 years of high school spanish but they don't offer AP foreign language here.. she tested out of 2 years of spanish once she got to college, so she doesn't have to take any more, but she got no hours out of that..).

so.. unless you actually suck at spanish, are not likely to pass the AP test, the class might lower your GPA.. OR you're planning to major in history, if it was me, I'd stick with spanish.

Take the euro-history course AND work on your spanish. Screw AP spanish exam, go for being fluent. That's more marketable.

Hmm, after reading the post above, I'd hold off on my recommendation. College credits aside, if you can claim fluency, you've got an instant job in many arenas.
