Just installed Abit VA-10 KM400 Socket A 333FSB together with AMD Sempron 2500 which has a FSB of 333 and 256mb PC2700 ram.

Two problems, firstly, when I 'shut down' under Windows XP (Home SP2), the computer restarts rather than shuts down completely.

Second problem is the computer appears to be running at 266 FSB rather than 333, even though the BIOS is configures to automatically obatin the speed.

Otherwise, it runs like a dream.

Thanks for any help

Make sure your tiny ATX power connector from the power switch on your case is connected to your mobo correctly. As for the other problem, just go into the bios and root around the options and change it yourself. Im not familiar with your bios but it will probably be under system frequencies or memory configuration and the like.

You might be getting a BSOD. Set your settings so your computer will not automatically reboot. I had a board doing this once, and then found out it was a BSOD that was causing it to reboot instead of shutting down.

Thanks to all for your help, still yet to resolve the issues.

Bobsquad, BSOD must be a technical shortcut that I have yet to hear of. What do you mean.....

Thanks again
