Will nissan pay me $500?

I recently got a 90 infiniti Q45, and I discovered that the seatbelt (which is broken ATM) is a manufacturers defect, and a recall was issued. I confirmed this with NHTSA as well as nissan via phone. I have an appointment scheduled for the 11th at an Infiniti dealership to have them inspect the problem. Should I just go to the junkyard and pick up a seatbelt for like 30 bucks, and just have one of my friends write out a 500 dollar bill for it? Will nissan cough up the cash?

Whats wrong with that, its not like nissan doesnt have Deep pockets, and they made a sh!tty product anyway

what is your personal guideline to determine when a company is big enough to steal from?

That confirms my suspicions.

Umm most likely it has been replaced on recall already, and the dealership will confirm this. If it hasnt, they are required to replace it for free anyways...

Basically you just have to ask them if it has already been replaced, and if not, go go junkyard.

So by that logic, you won't mind it when a few homeless guys raid your home and steal from you, seeing how you have more money than them

um be happy that nissan will honor it and not give you any trouble for it, instead of trying to screw them over.
